The island of Hippocrates with the 1st SmartXcan body measurement system in Hospital in Greece
Kos, Greece, 17 July 2020 – KENTIX manufacturer of professional Smart Building Security products for physical security and access control of buildings in collaboration with the exclusive representative NETECO IT Systems S.M.P.C. in the Greek market, donated the smart technology device SmartXCan for contactless fever measurement at the “General Hospital of Kos”.
As stated by the CEO of NETECO Mr. Marcus Kuechler “The donation was made with a strong sense of social responsibility to the island of the father of medicine Hippocrates, Kos which is also the headquarters base of our company. Kos Hospital is the first hospital all over Greece, where SmartXCan has been operating since June 2020 for access control with SmartXcan thermometer.
On his part, Mr. Stamatis Vassiliadis, Director of the General Hospital Kos “Hippocrates” adds “With this donation we deal and act actively with smart technology against the spread of viruses and infective diseases restoring the public confidence in public safety by entering a public hospital. “The investment of the SmartXcan system at places wherever lots of people gather, is the best self-protection for everyone.”
Specifically, KENTIX SMARTXCAN MULTISENSOR recognizes within 1” second whether a person has fever or not and based on that, access in the building is controlled. The measurement is monitored wireless by security personnel at the entrance area of the hospital, where it is possible to view at the same time the result of the measurement through a heat image on the connected equipment (tablet).
Its function is distinguished by the fact that it uses 1024 thermometers that measure temperature from the eyes, one of the most stable points of body temperature, which makes it accurate in its measurements.
An automated, safe, and intuitive fever measurement at centrally, preferably electrically controlled, crowded access points is an important measure that has been tested in many risk areas:
- to provide long-term and sustainable protection against viral diseases
- to restore social and economic contacts, while at the same time controlling the risk of epidemics
Moreover, the Kentix SmartXcan is the only measurement system which meets all the specifications of the GDPR. Considering the system does not record personalized personal data but only heat images, which cannot identify an individual even if used in control with a controller.
With this equipment, the Hospital has the ideal solution to protect visitors, doctors and nursing staff upon entry.
